Fate of Blackpool Wetherspoons revealed

Shock sell-offs announced – see which 32 JD Wetherspoons pubs are closing soon – with Blackpool LAD

32 pubs for sale

Pub chain JD Wetherspoon who currently operate 3 Blackpool Wetherspoons pubs and 5 more across the Fylde Coast has announced that 32 of it’s sites nationally are up for sale.

The Velvet Coaster Isn’t one of the pubs up for sale

The portfolio comprised of 22 leasehold and 10 freehold venues has been put up for sale via Estate agents Savile’s and CBRE. It’s hoped that these units will sell as smaller lots or a full portfolio. All are based in town or city centres but thankfully NONE are Blackpool Wetherspoons pubs.

Toby Hall, senior director at CBRE, said: “The excellent mix of locations in this portfolio is rarely seen in the market. With more than half of the portfolio located in London and the south east and other strong locations in the south west, Midlands and north, we believe the pubs represent an excellent opportunity for existing pub operators and new entrants.”

The properties are as follows:

  • Barnsley – Silkstone Inn;
  • Beaconsfield – Hope & Champion;
  • Bexleyheath – Wrong ‘Un;
  • Bournemouth – Christopher Creeke;
